His “look” defined the 1980s.
The junk wax baseball card era was defined by getting a Dennis Eckersley card in some form or another. He was a baseball fan-favorite.
Case in point: on December 26th, I bought a few packs of 1980s Donruss cards. I landed an Eckersley card, photographed below:

I Sent Him A Letter And Pen – He Kept The Pen
I personally collected a lot of Eckersley cards growing up. So I decided to do what every childhood fan does: I sent him a letter.
Included in my letter was a Topps Chrome card that I recently pulled from Target pack. I also sent a gold, glossy marker for Eckersley to use to sign it.
I also included a return addressed envelope pre-stamped.
Like clockwork, I got the Eckersley card in the mail in all its glory.
