Here are the 3 keys to generating sales labeled in order of importance:
- The pitch.
- The product.
- The company.
Your pitch is more important than your product.
Your product is more important than your company.
When you have all three together: that’s when the magic happens.
I Sold $1,000,000 In Just 6 Months
It’s amazing who will take your phone calls if you have something to offer them.
When most people think of sales, they think of some fast-talking guy in a fancy suit trying to push snake oil.
Newsflash: That’s not even close to how it works!
Sales jobs require listening and problem-solving. I know this because in just 6 months, I generated one business over $1,000,000 in yearly sales.
I did it the old-fashioned way: By contacting people and picking up the phone.
Here’s what I did:
- I figured out who my prospective client would be.
- I created an elaborate solution that all the potential clients would want.
- I framed myself as the ultimate expert of the problem (and actually became the expert through extensive reading).
- Then I marketed our company as the ultimate end-all-be-all solution.
- I reached out to the clients and told them how I would transform their business.
It worked like a charm.
Before I knew it, I was swimming in new potential deals and becoming partners with people I had never met.
All of this goes back to structure and critical thinking. The best part is that I know I can do it over and over again.
Don’t Ignore Simple Ideas
One of the most profound lessons I’ve ever learned is that great ideas sound simple. Especially when explained well to a novice.
Because most people can’t tell the difference between worthless cliches and truly profound ideas. Especially with all the noise that’s on the internet.
The good news is that this gives you an advantage. If you can simply explain good ideas to your prospective client, you’re going to win every time.
